Overview

Standing 55 storey tall, the interconnected towers will provide some of the largest corporate spaces in the Parramatta CBD, comprising 135,000 square meters of premium office space.

Citilink Piling were entrusted with the Foundation Piling works for this iconic project by Built. Built were awarded the final stages of Walker Corporation’s Parramatta Square development after a competitive tender process where the main contractor has worked closely with the Walker’s team to develop an alternate structural design concept.

The Challenge

Foundation piles comprising of 900 to 1500 diameter drilled at 6 meters to 25 meters in depth, Citilink Piling had to overcome tremendous logistic, soil and time constrain, geotechnical ( DYKE ), ground anchors problems.

Due to the proximity to publicly accessed lanes and streets, the safety of pedestrians, as well as the site crew was paramount. Citilink Piling prides on the record safety within the Drilling Foundation Industry.

The Solution

Another challenging aspect of this unique project was the collapsible material while drilling the piles. Hence the reason Citilink Piling had to adopt steel cased piling in order to assure the integrity and the feasibility of the piles.

This advanced project entailed the use of temporary ( Permanent ) casing that secured the walls of the pile, until the pile was fully drilled, concreted and caged.

The piling crew had to work collaboratively with the site engineers and additional contractors in order to maximise the use of job site real estate and the busy scheduled works.

Adding another epic project to their portfolio, Citilink Piling are proud to have brought their contribution again to the construction of Australia’s future.
